Maryland offers great opportunities for careers in the Arts, Media and Communication cluster. Students are able to combine their creative abilities with technical skills and knowledge that prepare them for careers in: Video Production, Graphic Communications, Web Design, Interactive Media and Game Design. Maryland CTE programs focus on Graphic Communications and Interactive Media Production. Business partners help to ensure our programs keep pace with the latest developments in industry. MSDE Arts, Media and Communication programs include options for students to earn industry certifications and college credit toward advanced study in the career field.
The Graphic Communications program is offered in partnership with the printing and Graphics Association MidAtlantic (PGAMA). Students can gain industry certification through printed in several areas, including; Introduction to Graphic Communications, Advertising & Design, Digital File Preparation, Digital Press & Offset Press and can also earn college credits through articulation agreements with local colleges
The IMP program was developed in partnership with the Community College of Baltimore County.
Students begin with the Principles of Arts, Media and Communication and take two specialization courses in either Digital Media, Interactive Media or Graphic Design. Students have the opportunity to earn multiple Adobe Creative Suite certifications. Students’ portfolio projects based on web application development, computer graphics, electronic media and project management can gain them college credit.
